We offer a variety of Bushcraft experiences that will delight and inspire the youngest to the oldest adventurer. With survival at its core, we explore this ancient art and follow in the footsteps of our ancestors.
Woodland Bushcraft
These events take place in a private country estate nestled between the Coniston fells and the Duddon Estuary with views stretching out to the Western hills. Nestled in glorious ancient oak woodland, our bushcraft takes place under the shelter of a large parachute so you will stay dry whatever the weather. There is also a composting toilet for your convenience.
Woodland Bushcraft - Full Day
The session involves a mix of foraging, cooking and learning to use bushcraft knives and other useful tools safely. Have a go at lighting a fire using various methods including fire lighting with bow drill. Once you have a fire going you will learn how to fillet a whole rainbow trout and cook it indigenous style over the fire. Accompanied with your freshly made bread perhaps some foraged wild garlic butter and some crispy roast potatoes. This is an experience to remember!
For adults and families with children aged 12 or over.
Allow 6 hours.
Woodland Family Bushcraft - Half Day
Perfect for families. A fun session designed as an introduction to bushcraft with something for all the family.
Forage around the woodland, explore the badger sets and trails on the way then settle down under the parachute to cook up a snack and make a brew. You’ll have a go at making feather sticks to start your fire then light it using flint and steel or friction fire lighting. Once the fire is going you can have a go at making some mini pizzas and also damper bread using the ingredients provided and anything you have foraged on the way. Sit back and enjoy the feast! Great fun for all the family.
Allow 3 hours.
