Askham Hall is situated in the stunning Eden Valley. This historic stately home and gardens is home to the Michelin Star restaurant Allium, with Cumbrian born Head Chef Richard Swale.
The Michelin guide says:
"Relax by the fire in the cosy sitting room of this 14C pele tower, while enjoying canapés and perusing the hugely impressive wine selection from the estate cellars; then head through to the modish, country kitchen style restaurant with its unique tiled floor and garden views. Accomplished dishes are driven by the seasons and the availability of produce from the surrounding Lowther Estate, with the gardener playing a key role in the crafting of the menu. Sauces are a highlight and really elevate each dish."

Cavendish St, Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands LA11 6QA
L’Enclume has firmly placed the village of Cartmel on the foodie map. Simon Rogan’s Michelin starred menu is based on seasonal produce and flavours all sourced from the restaurant’s own 12 acre farm. The Michelin Guide says:
"Few restaurants have closer ties to their region than L’Enclume and the Lake District. The cooking in this lovely old smithy has never stopped evolving and a palpable energy emanates from the kitchen. Signature dishes have been reworked and refined, while stunning new creations have slotted seamlessly into the tasting menu. Simon Rogan's ever-expanding farm produces much of the superb produce on display, while the enthusiasm and pride of the service team further enhance the experience."

Simon Rogan’s influence is clear to see on the menu, which lists skilfully prepared, understated dishes that make great use of creative ingredient and flavour combinations. The clean, uncomplicated approach keeps the focus firmly on each main ingredient, with exceptional produce coming from Simon's Our Farm development in the Cartmel Valley, or carefully sourced from trusted Lake District suppliers."
