Experience an exciting canoe journey around Coniston Water and learn some bushcraft skills along the way.
Enjoy a guided tour around the magnificent Coniston Water and immerse yourself in its stunning mountain scenery. We’ll make a stop on the lake shore and our expert instructors will teach you the fundamentals of bushcraft.
Half-day
A guided canoe tour and a little taste of bushcraft. After getting to grips with paddling, we’ll embark on a journey around the beautiful Coniston Water. Our journey will take us to a secluded bay, where we will cover the exciting and essential survival skill of how to make a fire using flint and steel. You’ll make a fire and boil water in a Kelly Kettle to make hot chocolate, tea or coffee and then toast some marshmallows.
Great for families.
Full-day
On our full-day session, you’ll get more time to hone your bushcraft skills and take a little longer journey around the lake in your canoe.
Practice your knife and axe skills under the eye of your experienced instructor to safely make feather sticks which will be used to light your fire. We’ll introduce you to different methods of fire lighting including fire bows, flint and steel. You’ll have a go at filleting and cooking a whole rainbow trout indigenous style served up with some delicious homemade garlic bread.
Great for groups and families with older children.
